Mischief is purposefully destroying or defacing any public or private property without consent of the owner or the person having control of that property.

Examples of Mischief

  • Breaking windows
  • Graffiti
  • Toilet papering houses
  • Egging houses
  • Playing loud music
  • Lighting fires
  • Keying cars
  • Smashing mailboxes
  • Destroying abandoned buildings

Causing vandalism to others property can land you in court and charged with mischief, you might be required to pay the costs of damages, you could injure yourself or someone else, be placed in a trespass book for that area, and you could loose the trust of friends and family.
